Terms of use

Skala's rules: what the service is, what's allowed, what happens to the content you create, and what we are responsible for.

Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Version 2.1 · Hebrew version

This is a translation of the Hebrew original. The Hebrew version is the binding one, unless the mandatory law of your country says otherwise.

In short

  • Skala is free, and you can play without an account.
  • What you write and upload stays yours. We only show and store it so the game works.
  • Only upload photos of yourself or of people who agreed, and play nice.
  • The service is provided as is, and a game can be cut short if the server restarts.
  • Israeli law applies, and your own country's consumer protections still apply.

1Who we are

Skala is run by Haltoorist (החלטוריסט) from Israel. You can write to us at contact@skalagame.com.

2Agreeing to these terms

When you use Skala, and in particular when you open a room, join a room or sign in, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

3The service

Skala is a free online party game. We may change, add or remove features, and sometimes the service will be unavailable.

Rooms live only in the server's memory, so a game can be cut short if the server restarts, and its scores will not be kept.

What you unlock through “watch an ad” screens (characters, reactions, your own photo) is a cosmetic extra kept only in your browser, and it is deleted with the site's data.

4Who can use it

The game suits all ages. Children under 13 should play with a parent or a responsible adult. Minors who sign in with Google need a parent's consent and must meet Google's minimum age in their country.

5Account

An account is created when you sign in with Google, and it is used only to keep question packs. You can log out any time on the packs screen. To delete the account and its packs, write to contact@skalagame.com.

6Content you create

Nicknames, clues, room names, question packs and the photos you create stay yours. You give us a limited permission to show, store and transmit them only to run the game: to show them in the room, to keep packs in your account, to show a pack you marked as public, and to show the podium in a results link that a player in the game chose to share. The permission ends when the content is deleted.

When you upload a photo, you confirm that it is yours, or that everyone in it agreed (for a child, their parent).

Not allowed to write or upload: illegal content, incitement, threats, harassment or bullying, explicit sexual content, other people's personal details, photos of people without their consent, or content that infringes copyright or trademarks.

How we handle it: there is no automatic filtering, and we don't watch rooms. Public packs and reports are reviewed by a person.

Reporting content: write to contact@skalagame.com with what is wrong and why, where the content is (a link to the pack, or the room code and the nickname), and your name and email. We will look into it and let you know. If someone's life or safety is at risk, we will pass the information to the authorities.

Removal: if we remove content or restrict an account, we will explain why, and you can appeal at the same address.

7Play fair

  • Don't try to hack, overload or disrupt the service, and don't get around the rate limits.
  • Don't use bots or scripts to play or to open rooms.
  • Don't impersonate others or use someone else's device ID.
  • Don't collect information about other players.
  • Don't use the game commercially without our permission.

8Intellectual property

The game, its design, characters, music, code and built-in question bank belong to Haltoorist (החלטוריסט), and may be used only to play.

9Liability

The service is free and provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, or for lost scores, a game that was cut short, or a pack that was kept only in a browser and got deleted.

Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or affects the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

10Changes to these terms

When we change the terms, we update the date and the version at the top of this page. A material change will be shown on the site at least 14 days before it takes effect, and it never applies to what happened before it. If you don't agree to a change, you can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account.

11Blocking and ending the service

We may block access or delete content of anyone who breaks these terms. If we end the service altogether, we will announce it on the site in advance, so you can save your packs. You can stop using the service at any time.

12Law and courts

These terms are governed by Israeli law, and the competent courts in Israel have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in another country, the mandatory protections of your country's law still apply, and you can also go to the courts there.

13Languages

The legal documents are available in Hebrew and English. The Hebrew version is the binding one, unless the mandatory law of your country says otherwise, and the reading more favourable to the consumer always applies.

14Contact

Haltoorist (החלטוריסט), contact@skalagame.com, in Hebrew and English. This is also the service's point of contact under the EU Digital Services Act (DSA), for users and for authorities.
