Accessibility statement

What we did so everyone can play Skala, what isn't accessible yet, and how to get help.

Last updated: 20 October 2026 · Version 2.1 · Hebrew version

This is a translation of the Hebrew original. The Hebrew version is the binding one, unless the mandatory law of your country says otherwise.

In short

  • The site's pages were checked; the live game screens aren't fully accessible yet.
  • Something not working for you? Write to contact@skalagame.com and we will help you play another way.

1Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to play Skala, including people with disabilities, so accessibility is built into the code itself.

2Accessibility level

Haltoorist (החלטוריסט) is an exempt dealer (עוסק פטור) under Israeli law, and is therefore exempt from the accessibility duty for websites (regulation 35F(g) of the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations). Despite the exemption we did what is described here.

The site partially meets Israeli Standard IS 5568 at level AA (based on WCAG 2.0), and was checked against WCAG 2.1 level AA. The live game screens don't meet every requirement yet.

3What we did

  • The page language and writing direction follow the interface language you choose.
  • You can zoom, on phones too.
  • The dial also works from the keyboard: arrows, Home and End.
  • Pop-up windows keep the focus inside them and close with the Esc key.
  • If you asked your system for less motion, you get fewer animations.
  • Music starts only after a click or a tap, and on every screen you can turn it and the sound effects off.
  • Fields and icons have accessible names. There is no accessibility overlay: accessibility is built into the code.

4What isn't accessible yet

  • The live game screens were checked only by reviewing the code, not with an automated tool.
  • The dial: there is no focus outline around it, and a screen reader reads only a number from 0 to 100.
  • The timer: a screen reader announces it every second.
  • Time limits: every round has a fixed time that can't be extended. The time is part of the game.
  • Photos players upload are shown without alt text; the nickname next to them identifies the player.
  • The demo dial on the home page is only an illustration, but it is marked as a slider, which can confuse a screen reader.
  • The ad at the top of the screen comes from Google, and we don't control the accessibility of what is inside it. Its area is labelled as an ad, and our choice card works with the keyboard.

5Alternative arrangements

If something on the site isn't accessible to you, write to contact@skalagame.com and we will help you take part another way: for example, someone in the room moves the dial following your instructions, or we send you these documents as an accessible text file.

6How we tested

On 30 September 2026 we checked the site's pages with an automated tool (Google Lighthouse) and reviewed the code by hand. We did not test with a screen reader.

7Accessibility contact

Accessibility contact: Haltoorist (החלטוריסט), contact@skalagame.com. Tell us which screen has the problem, and which browser and assistive technology you use.
